 Spanish grassroots sports have received the lifeline they needed. Non-professional sports clubs will be able to benefit from a 100% discount on their employer's contribution to Social Security for common contingencies provided they hire coaches dedicated to training children under 18. The measure, included in the Second Additional Provision of Law 7/2024, of December 20, was made possible thanks to the support of the Union of Sports Federations of Catalonia (UFEC) and its Club Support Office (OAC).This is an unprecedented reform in the financing of youth sports that, according to calculations made by UFEC, will have a direct impact of €84 million in annual savings for sports organizations throughout Spain.
